We have been incredibly active since we began our service to the residents of District 3 and Santa Clara County in December 2020. If you visit SupervisorLee.org you may learn more about our work and how to contact the District 3 Office about any issues or concerns you may have or support we may provide assistance with.

Here are some highlights of the work we are doing together…

Caring For Each Other

  • We faced down this pandemic to care for our health and each of our neighbors. As a national leader in vaccinate rates, we stood by one another, especially our frontline/essential and health care workers. LINK

  • We worked with Supervisor Susan Ellenberg to declare a mental health crisis in Santa Clara County to expedite access, services, and resources to enhance the wellness and safety of our community. LINK

  • We worked with Supervisor Cindy Chavez to address the need for emergency housing and investing in transitional housing in San Jose. We worked with Supervisor Joe Simitian to utilize federal funding for options like repurposed shipping containers to create more immediate options. LINK & LINK

  • The County also acquired several new properties to build more affordable housing. In conjunction with my referral to utilize vacant motel rooms for transitional housing, we are creating spaces to address the housing crisis. LINK

A Safer Community For All

  • Preventing hate and violence has been a major focus for us, and we have been thankful to get strong support from the community and San José State University. Hate has no place in Santa Clara County. LINK & Click HERE for Stop AAPI Hate LINK

  • In partnership with the Milpitas Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office, we hosted the first gun buyback event since COVID. Residents voluntarily turned in more than 400 firearms. LINK Special thanks to KRON 4 for welcoming us to the studio to discuss this important issue. LINK

  • I was fortunate to take a visit to Poland and see firsthand the impacts of the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine. We stand in solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian & Russian families across the Bay Area that want an immediate end to this war. Special thanks to David Louie for asking us to share this story. • We stepped up time and time again to support refugees and those fleeing Afghanistan, Ukraine, Central America and other places torn apart by violence. LINK

  • We also had to face tough choices for the future of our custodial responsibilities. We are grateful to the community for continuing to speak out on this issue. By working together we will empower alternatives to incarceration and improve our community safety. LINK

A brighter future

  • We will take a more committed approach to addressing the impacts of climate change with the creation of the County of Santa Clara’s Sustainability Commission. We are going to empower more sustainable choices through the community’s voice. LINK

  • Through our URJGENT Grants Program we are funding direct community action to help improve our quality of life. We are to supporting the every-day people and local community organizations that are stepping up to meet the core, “URJGENT” needs of our community - Unhoused, Racial Justice, Green, Equity, Neighborhoods, and Transparency. • We welcomed back Day On The Bay at the Alviso Marina! It was an honor to host this event and celebrate the diversity of our community and the natural beauty of the San Francisco Bay and the Alviso Marina. LINK

I also get the chance to work with all of you. District 3 is home to bustling neighborhoods and to some of our most pristine and peaceful open spaces. It is my honor to continue my service to our community.
